Q. I am an Academy member but when placing an order the non-member price comes up.

  • A. Please be sure to log into the EAL as an Academy member using your Academy member number as your username and your password. If you do not remember your password click Email Password and a new randomly generated password will be sent to you the same day.

Q. I am a student but when I place an order the non-member price comes up.

  • A. The student discount is available to Academy Student members. If you are an Academy Student member, please log into the EAL using your Academy member number as your username and your password. If you do not remember your password click Email Password and a new randomly generated password will be sent to you the same day.

Q. Some toolkits are listed as a download item and some are listed as an on-line item. What is the difference?

  • A. Download toolkits are a series of documents that you 'save' or 'store' on your computer. On-line toolkits are password-protected 'subscriptions' that require you to log into the site each time you want to access the information. You should save the URL address to your Favorites to facilitate access to the site(s).

Q. I placed an order without downloading the electronic item. When I went back, I was unable to retrieve the order.

  • A. For some of the electronic products, you have up to 5 days from when you made your purchase to download the electronic items. To do so, log into the Academy Evidence Analysis Library, click on the words MY PROFILE located in the upper right-hand corner, then click Purchase History located in the left navigation bar. Click on your order number and proceed with the download. (Note:  Download problems for "Becoming a Vegetarian" should be sent to: dfaulhaber@eatright.org). Links to the on-line toolkits are not available in MY PROFILE. You must enter the URL address to access the site.

Q. I purchased an on-line toolkit. How do I access the site?

  • A. The URL address for the NCP IDNT On-line Manual Toolkit is:  www.adancp.com
  • A. The URL address for the Electronic Health Records (EHR) On-line Toolkit is: www.adaehr.com
  • A. The URL address for teh Research Toolkit Online Toolkit is: www.adartk.com.

Q. How do I download a zip file?

  • A. A zip file is a "compressed" file. This means there are several files compressed into one. To retrieve the individual files, you must first save the zip file, then you can "extract" and save the individual files that are within the zip file. This can be done by right-clicking on the saved zip file and selecting "extract files" or "extract to" or "extract all". Or you might need to click on the zip file and choose a program to open the file. In this case, open with "compressed (zip) folders". Make sure to save the individual files where you will be able to find them (often a default location is preset).

Q. I am receiving a message stating that I have exceeded the maximum number of downloads.

  • A. For some of the products, your total downloads are limited. Before you begin the dowload, please be sure that you are at the computer where you will store the items or be able to save them on a portable data storage device.

 

 

Q What if it’s after the 5-day limit and I still have not been able to download my toolkit?

Q. I ordered the electronic and printed toolkit. I have downloaded the electronic copy. When can I expect to receive the printed copy?

  • A. You can expect to receive your printed toolkit within 11-12 days. Printed items are mailed within 7 days of when your order was placed, and shipping may take 4-5 days depending on your location. We ship items via UPS ground (U.S. Mail for PO Boxes). If you do not receive your toolkit within this timeframe, please contact eal@adaevidencelibrary.com.

Q. I purchased an Educator Module and after downloading it, I was surprised that it was a PDF. How can I use it as a PowerPoint presentation?

  • A. After opening the PDF, click on "View" at the top of the page. From the dropdown box select "Full Page Mode" and you will see the PDF presented as a PowerPoint.

Q. Are the electronic items compatible with Mac computers?

  • A. Yes, however, the electronic documents are in Word, Power Point, Excel or Adobe format so you will need these Microsoft programs to open the files.

Q. Is tax included in my order?

  • A. You are only charged tax if you are an Illinois resident.

Q. If I pay for my order by check, where do I send my payment?

  • A. A printable invoice is available after you place an order by check. The payment address is listed on this invoice and is also below. Please make sure to include the customer’s name on the invoice.

Q. If I pay by check, when will I receive my order?

  • A. Once your check is received and processed by Academy staff, your product(s) will be released. You will receive an email notification and link to download your product(s).
